Krowswork is very pleased to announce the Summer of Video Art: Oakland Video Vague—a rolling wave of video projects, installations, performances, and single channel works to be presented over the course of July and August. The program begins on July 1st, with the Oakland Art Murmur First Friday and continues through August 27th. FINAL TWO EVENTS: August 26th at 8pm- The Spontaneous Underground Presents Laser Fest: underground video and performance curated by Shalo P. Krowswork is also pleased to welcome Glenn Phillips, curator of media art at the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles, who will talk about the state of video art in California. RSVP to info@krowswork.com The second wave, The Feel of the Water, begins on First Friday, August 5 and features: "Because" - an installation/video environment by Dale Hoyt that explores the space of the room he lives in, emulating the colors, textures and light associated with that space. The piece probes methods of control pioneered by both religious and intelligence groups (Binaural Frequencies, Stroboscopic Visuals, Reactive Mind Commands, the 25th Shot System, Monarch Programming, Infrasound, etc).
