Krowswork is very pleased to announce the Summer of Video Art: Oakland Video Vague—a rolling wave of video projects, installations, performances, and single channel works to be presented over the course of July and August. The program begins on July 1st, with the Oakland Art Murmur First Friday and continues through August 27th.

August 27th - 7pm: Conversation with SFMOMA assistant media arts curator Tanya Zimbardo followed by live video performances by Kim Miskowicz and Tommy Becker.

 

Krowswork is also pleased to welcome Glenn Phillips, curator of media art at the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles, who will talk about the state of video art in California. Lecture at 4 pm, Saturday, August 13th. RSVP to info@krowswork.com

The second wave, The Feel of the Water, begins on First Friday, August 5 and features:

"Because" - an installation/video environment by Dale Hoyt that explores the space of the room he lives in, emulating the colors, textures and light associated with that space. Featuring eleven of his neighbors, the video was all shot within ten feet of his bed.

In the Project Room: Will Erokan's video wall installation, "RAINBOW Programming," an exercise in Physiological/Spiritual Tactile Manipulation. The piece probes methods of control pioneered by both religious and intelligence groups (Binaural Frequencies, Stroboscopic Visuals, Reactive Mind Commands, the 25th Shot System, Monarch Programming, Infrasound, etc).
